Experts from Sofia, Prague, Osijek, Kosice and Italy gathered together for a partnership meeting in Rubano, Italy, from May 30 to June 1st, 2018. The meeting involved almost 30 participants: project coordinators and researchers, members of the five city Stakeholder Integration Groups and representatives of the Local Government of Rubano.
During the three days of meeting the participants presented and elaborated on the project outputs of the first semester: the initial findings of the focus groups and desk research.
The INTEGRA group conducted a pilot city tour with checklists and photovoice in Rubano and neighbouring Padua focused on urban safety and cultural mapping to assess the policies and practices of integration of third country nationals and migrants, to identify good practices and challenges.
The participants visited one of the structures of the Protection System for Asylum Seekers and Refugees (SPRAR) created under Law No 189/2002. SPRAR unites in a network local governments that implement migrant integration projects and is managed by the Italian Ministry of Interior.
The stakeholder integration groups in the five countries formed a common expert network for exchange of experiences and interaction.
In the upcoming months the project partnership will complete the city integration audits and reports in each of the five cities.
